RE5

Computer and Video Games has revealed the console-specific exclusives of Capcom’s highly-anticipated Resident Evil 5 for both the Xbox 360 and PS3.  The Playstation version of the game will come with a special making-of featurette right on the Blu-Ray with the game, whereas the Xbox release will come in a special steel package (similar to the Devil May Cry 4 and Gears of War 2 Limited Editions, I would assume) with a soundtrack CD.  There’s also a special limited edition version for both consoles, which comes with the game, a 2 GB flash drive, a waist pouch designed after the one used by Chris and Sheva in the game, and an art book.  However, this third option has only been confirmed for the Japanese market.

28 weeks later

While Danny Boyle was in our home town of Philadelphia promoting his new rags-to-riches, Three Musketeers- in-Bollywood/action-adventure-love story Slumdog Millionaire, we picked his delicious brain about a possible third installment to the zombie-packed 28 Days franchise. The English director was cryptic in his answers, but it definitely peaked our curiosity.

Dexter: Episode 3.10
"Go Your Own Way"
Written By: Tim Schlattmann
Directed By: John Dahl
Original Airdate: November 30, 2008

In This Episode…

The cops bring in a suspect in Ellen Wolf’s murder.  He was at Ellen’s house around the time of the murders for a booty call.  Miguel thinks he’s home free – until Quinn finds out the suspect has an airtight alibi.  The suspect told LaGuerta that he saw a big, dark SUV with very, very bright headlights. Time to start worrying again, Miguel.

LaGuerta is stressed out.  Dexter keeps an eye on her – he’s afraid he will be easy pickings for Miguel.  If Miguel can get her in his pocket, then he has virtually nothing to worry about.  Miguel goes back to LaGuerta’s place… gets her drunk… commiserates over lost loved ones… reminiscing about when they used to date….  The talking turns to heavy petting, but it’s interrupted by Dexter, who just “had” to apologize to LaGuerta for a paperwork mixup.

Dexter had admitted to Rita that “Miguel isn’t who you think he is.”  Which, of course, Rita takes to mean that Miguel is having an affair – with LaGuerta.  She accidentally-on-purpose tells Sil, who goes to LaGuerta’s house.  Sil happens to arrive as LaGuerta is walking Miguel to his car.  Shit, meet fan.

'Planet of the Apes' Has Just Begun

planet of the apes

Christmas is coming early, FEARnetians! Remember when you first left the theater after seeing Tim Burton’s Planet of the Apes remake some seven years ago? Well, if you’re anything like me, after you were done throwing up, you probably wondered when you could see the sequel. The answer to said question is, unfortunately, quite soon. According to CHUD the film will actually be a prequel (or a prequel-remake) and instead of taking up the name of its predecessor, Conquest of the Apes, the film will just go by Caesar (the name of the ape who leads the uprising against the humans). Caesar was previously announced to be called Genesis of the Apes or Planet of the Apes: Genesis, but according to one news source, the project has already shifted to the alias of Caesar for good, and will be written and directed by Scott Frank. It will also "eschew the time travel aspect of the original series and will present Caesar as a chimpanzee whose intellect has been stimulated by genetic experimentation." Look for the new Planet of the Apes installment in 2010.
