Anaconda 4

Today looks like a pretty cheesy day for the horror DVDs, and it seems easier to break them down by category...

For example, we get not one, not two, but three new B-movies about monster attacks in water this week. The first, Silent Venom stars Luke Perry and Tom Berenger and deals with a deadly snake on a submarine. The second flick is called Razortooth, which is about a man-eating eel with crazy-ass teeth. Third is Anacondas: Trail of Blood, which marks the fourth entry in the seemingly endless Anaconda series. So if you're looking for some waterlogged monster lunacy, this is the week for you.

Category two I'll let you name yourself. Included here are actual movies called Monsturd and Retardead. I assume one is about a homicidal bowel movement and the other focuses on some mentally challenged zombies. Forgive me if I pass on both.

In the "defies categorization" department we have season one of a vampire series called Blood Ties, another inaugural season of The Hunger (starring Daniel Craig and Lena Headey), a re-release of Miike's infamous Gozu, and an indie called Elsewhere, which is about (you guessed it) missing girls in a small town. Like I said, not much of a week at all. Maybe go see Drag Me to Hell again?

Next week: Hope you love the Puppet Master series.
