One of those tragically weak horror weeks at the DVD store, my friends.

Don't be fooled by the familiar-yet-alluring cover on The Last Resort. I just watched it, and it's really pretty terrible. A bunch of obnoxious bridesmaids head to Mexico and come across a vague and gory horror.

Wanna see a bunch of crooks invade The Crypt, only to get killed by something evil? Cool, let me know how that works out.Then there's a 1972 British obscurity called The Weekend Murders, which sounds a lot like a "mansion full of murders" affair...

From Shriek Show we get a "Wicked Women" triple feature of Nightmares Come at Night, Flesh for the Beast, and Werewolf Woman. Enjoy.

Blu-ray fanatics may want to add See No Evil and / or The Ninth Gate to their collection ... but I'm just picking up Starman this week.

Next week is a noteworthy improvement, with the third season of Dexter, a surprisingly good remake, and another chintzy monster movie from the Sci-Fi Channel.
