The Burrowers hits DVD shelves today, go out and put some monsters and indians into your life. The power of Christ and Clancy Brown compels you.
Tomorrow night at 9:00pm (ET) I'm going to be chatting live here at FEARnet, accompanying a broadcast of Blood Red Earth and a scene from The Burrowers. Bring your questions about cowboys, kid's books, and snuff!
Looks like there's a screening of Rob Hall's (who built the creatures in The Burrowers) Laid to Rest tomorrow night in New York. No RSVP necessary, they're putting butts in seats first come first serve. I'm gonna try to be there.

This Monday, March 2nd, FEARnet is going to be streaming the short movie I directed as a prequel to The Burrowers, titled Blood Red Earth. It started out as a promotional thing for the feature; Lionsgate asked if there were any more stories surrounding The Burrowers mythology I wanted to explore. I was real excited about the idea of doing a less 'honkeycentric' American West story, and had a bunch of fun research about traditional Lakota living that didn't fit in the feature. So instead of cowboys vs. monsters you get Indians vs. monsters, an entirely Native American cast, filmed entirely in the Lakota language. Because I wanted to make something fun and easy. I'll post up a few more pictures in the next few days.
Christwire.org on Friday the 13th I can't tell if this is satire or honest to god propaganda, but happy to spread it either way:
My buddy Rob Hall and his company Almost Human, (designers of the creature in Burrowers), just revamped their website. It's worth a poke around; my favorite picture is definitely the animatronic turkey felating Steve Zahn (used in Rescue Dawn), but there's all sorts of cool photos in the gallery, including 500 lb. William Mapother and some under-the-rubber shots of the animatronic Burrowers.
BURROWERS is going to be the opening night film at the Gerardmer Film Festival in France. Tell your French friends to go check it out; they won't be sorry for long.
We just got a copy of the Russian edition of my wife's first novel, "The Keeper". Nice to know there's somewhere in the world that doesn't try too pass their horror novels off as "supernatural thrillers." How could you not love that cover?
Beck Underwood, in cahoots with Larry Fessenden's Glass Eye Pix has put together an online film festival called Creepy Christmas. It's a bunch of short movies from the likes of Beck, Larry, me, Marry Harron (American Psycho), Jim Mickle (Mulberry Street), Glenn Mcquaid (I Sell the Dead,) and enough other creepy East Coast movie makers to fill an advent calendar. My movie, "Manger Tooth," plays on December 5th.
For anybody in Toronto this Thursday, Rue Morgue is going to be hosting a screening of THE BURROWERS at 9:30 at the Bloor Cinema, 506 Bloor Street West. I'll be there, as will Doug Buck with the trailer for his new movie, BROKEN IMAGO. I'll see if I can dig up some S&Man T-shirts to give away.
A burrower suggestion from my buddy Janice. I should have thought to have my creatures squirt electrified venom.
