My Twilight pack (Myself, Tracy and Jaleah) got together to watch the exclusive peek of New Moon at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, and we were not disappointed. Twilight walked away with a ton of golden popcorn statues, including best kiss for Robert and Kristen, and we thoroughly enjoyed a night full of RPattz’s charming smile, Cam Gigandet mugging for the camera and Kristen Stewart dropping her popcorn award. Robert and Kristen's live (almost) recreation of the now infamous on-screen lip lock left our entire party buzzing about whether or not the two stars are actually together off screen.
We waited with baited breath for the clip that would show us what to expect from the upcoming movie and when it came we got a first look of Edward’s goodbye and Jacob’s wolf transformation. Watch it below and read our reactions after the video.
Sara - The birthday party itself was not as over- the-top as I thought it would be (isn’t there supposed to be a ton of presents and isn’t everything supposed to be pink?), but the attack scene looked amazing. However, I have to take issue with Jasper. Why does his hair still look like that? If they are going to change Jacob’s look can’t they make the rest of the Cullens look a little better?
Did anyone else feel short-changed by the Bella and Edward kiss? I wanted to see more passion from the both of them, but I thought it really showed with Bella and Jacob. That being said, the second they showed of Bella’s breakdown was just as I imagined it.
Laurent looks awesomely scary with his red eyes! Good move to make things a little more serious with this chapter of the story, it goes with the tone of the book nicely. Maybe it’s just the way they cut the clip, but it appears that they changed the scene with Laurent, Bella and the wolf just slightly. Jacob didn’t actually change during that encounter did he?
Was I the only one who was hoping for some scenes from Italy? Also I wanted to see Kirsten Stewart doing some stunts.
Tracy - The wolf thing made me laugh so hard! It looks like it could be good though. Jacob looks great and when I was reading the book I always thought the whole werewolf thing could be hot. The idea of the werewolf appeals to me because vampires are cold and wolves are warm-blooded - closer to humans.
Jayleah - I was interested to see what they were going to do with the wolves. The special effects look just like “Golden Compass” so that's not so bad. In general, I think it looks like it was shot 10 million times better than “Twilight,” and some of it almost looks like “Harry Potter.” Jacob is so much better. It seems like they made an attempt to make Taylor look taller and more like the Jacob from the book by shooting him from below.
Those are our thoughts, what are yours?
