Toughen Up, B!tch: 'Quarantine'

Spoilers below!

Quarantine was released this weekend, and although it didn't quite top the box office (that honor went to the talking Chihuahua), it did come close, which means a whole lotta people sat through an excrutiating hour-and-a-half of Jennifer Carpenter's acting aside from me.

zombie prom

Okay, I promise that generally this blog will be devoted to horror vixens of past and present, but I couldn't let such an amazing event pass without freaking out about it.

Ladies and Gentlemen, if you're within driving distance of Philadelphia, you NEED to go to the Trocadero Theatre tonight for their... wait for it... Zombie Prom!!!  Picture this:  You--decked out in ruffles and rotting flesh--boogeying to the likes of Living Not On Evil and The Young Werewolves-- and if you really get your shamblin' on, you and your date have a chance at the title of Zombie King and Queen!  Afterwards you can head back to your hotel room to truly make it a night to remember with some zombie lovin'-- I hear there's nothing quite as good as rigor mortis...

Be there, or live with regret for an entire year.

Hot n Heavy Girl-On-Gore Action

Fri., Sep. 26, 2008 3:00 PM PDT , by Jenn

Welcome, my pretties, to Running in Heels – the new, hot, girl-on-gore blog from your friends here at FEARnet.  My name’s Jenn, and I’ll be your conductor on this magical moonlit rollercoaster through Horror, Hollywood, and beyond.  News and reviews + a focus on femmes = fun for boys and girls alike.  All aboard?

First up:  SMG returns to TV!  Okay, for those of you who didn’t depend on Buffy the Vampire Slayer AOL chat rooms to make it through adolescence, SMG stands for Sarah Michelle Gellar, and yes, she’d like to return to tv with a role in HBO’s “The Wonderful Maladys,” set to shoot next year.

Little is known about the storyline, except for what Variety gives us:   the show “revolves around the dysfunctional lives of three adult siblings who lost their parents at a young age.”  Is Gellar taking a break from horror, thrillers, and the apocalypse?  Maybe, or maybe the girls lost their parents to some kind of demon from Hell, and now it’s up to Gellar to exact their revenge.

I guess we’ll have to wait and see.  In the meantime, you can look forward to her role in the thriller Possession, set for a release date of January 9th, 2009.  And of course there’s always BTVS on dvd…
