Hit the premiere for Halloween II on Monday night. It is an unrelenting, uncompromising assault packed with powerful performances. I urge you to go see it. You will leave the theater exhausted.
Though, I'm not here to review the movie. Honestly, I'd rather focus on the bigger, more important thing going on that night... the after party!!
Hundreds jammed into Mood, a club on Hollywood Blvd. ready to devour the free food and drinks and maybe party away some of the abuse they had just suffered at the hands of Michael Myers. Me and my entourage (my wife) made our way to to the coveted VIP section (cause that's how we roll, suckas!) and grabbed a drink. Everyone's spirits were high and there was a definite sense of relief in the air that this movie was finally done. It was no secret among cast and crew that the journey to complete H2 had not been an easy one.
Anyway, I bounced around for a few hours like a pinball trying to hang with as many people as I could. Lots of familiar faces like Chris Hardwick (easily one of the nicest guys around), Tyler Mane (easily one of the tallest guys around) and Danielle Harris (with grandma in tow) made the rounds. Margot Kidder (Lois Lane) was in the house and non other than Mickey Dolenz of the Monkees stood a few feet away. No big deal to you maybe, but you must understand that I was obsessed with the Monkees as a kid!
Drama of the night goes to Scout Taylor-Compton being told by the doorman that she could not come into the party because she had no ID. She eventually made it in but was pissed!
My FEARnet peeps were representing strong as well as my new BFF (HA!) Rob Hall, director of Fear Clinic.
All around a great night in Hollywood that didn't feel too Hollywood!
