I got word that the lovely Magnolia Pictures will be releasing none other than MY ORIGINAL CUT of The House of the Devil this October. This is SUCH and epic WIN you have no Idea. Anyone who's anyone knows that I was quite perturbed by MPI's decision to cut the movie a week before the Tribeca film festival. So much in fact, that I caused quite a stir in the indie film world. But thanks to the great people at Magnolia (and in all fairness the people at MPI) my bitching and moaning has finally come to an end. In fact, this decision has completely rejuvenated my excitement for the film. I cannot wait until the release...It's going to be awesome!
In other interesting news there is a pretty amazing marketing campaign going on here In Los Angeles for that movie District 9. Tons of bus stops have been converted into "HUMAN ONLY" bus stops. It was pretty perplexing at first and I didn’t really pay much attention because I just assumed I read something wrong. Then I saw more of them and thought It was for some Pixar type kids movie (because of the robot/alien drawing)...But then I looked closer and realized It was for some movie called District 9. I didn’t know what that was...So I Googled it. It's a pretty interesting South African movie produced by Peter Jackson. The FX are pretty cool...I'm definitely intrigued. Whoever came up with the bus stop marketing idea should be made head of a company...it is exactly what viral marketing is all about...well done.
Alright kids that's all for now. Try not to blind yourselves with roman candles over the next few days...You'll wanna have your vision in tip top shape next week when I spill the beans about the new project I've been working on...
