Phobia Friday: Bibliophobia- Fear of books.
Season three of True Blood is nearly a year away ('less than a year!' Alexander reminds me) but I couldn’t wait to get the scoop from show writer Alexander Woo. I snagged him on the red carpet before a special writer’s panel at the Paley Center for Media and got some hints at who next season’s villain (or villains) might be.

Phobia Friday: Demophobia- Fear of crowds.
At a recent True Blood screening at the Paley Center for Media, we grabbed show writer Raelle Tucker to get the dirt on season three. As expected, she was pretty tight-lipped, but she did hint at the Eric/Bill/Sookie love triangle. Read on to see what else might be coming up.

Season three of True Blood is nearly a year away, but the writing team is already hard at work on a new, mind-bending season. Impatient as ever, I cornered executive producer Alan Ball at the recent Paley Center for Media True Blood presentation. When asked what will surprise viewers about season three, Ball was predictably tight-lipped: "The things that are going to be surprising wouldn't be surprising if I told you!"
Maybe it was my charm, or maybe it was just his desire to get the hell away from me, but Ball finally let slip a few new details about the next season.

True Blood is known for two things: sex and gore. Of course it seems sex always takes center stage – and with kinky fang-bangs and town-wide orgies, how could it not? But let's be honest – we all enjoy the gory bits at least as much. With this in mind, I scoured through True Blood, not looking for scenes with mere blood, but for the darkest, grimiest, goriest scenes. These were my top five picks – what are yours?
Stephen Moyer throws a shout out to his boss Alan Ball accepting the Spike Scream Award for Best Horror Actor. Is it just us, or is he both cooler and hotter when using his native accent?

Located in Orlando, Florida, the folks behind EyeCon pride themselves on booking guests who will wander the show floor, have extended autograph sessions, attend parties, and generally give fans the chance to hang out with their favorite stars. And this November 13th through 15th, the convention will be all True Blood, all the time.
I heard a rumor that a few of you FEARnet readers like vampires – imagine that. You aren't the only ones of course. TV has faced an explosion of blood and fangs in the last decade, and The Paley Center for Media has taken notice. They're asking people to vote for their favorite TV vampire of all time. And they have a lot of great options: Bill and Eric from True Blood, the Salvatore brothers from Vampire Diaries, and pretty much the entire cast of Buffy (Angel, Spike, Darla, and Dru) – just to name a few.
With the season finale of True Blood looming, and another season not expected for a full year, what is a fang-banger to do? We've got your guide to some great vampire projects to keep your bloodlust up until season three.
Who's ready for a season finale? I hope they run Maryann out of town – she's really trying as a "big bad." Does anyone have any guesses as to what kind of creature Tara and Eggs are incubating in that egg? Do you think Eggs laid it because of his name? No fair answering if you've read the books. What little we do get to see in the teaser doesn't offer much. Eric fools around with the Vampire Queen (can you blame him?) and Maryann's ritual is underway, judging by her flowing white robes and flower garland. Sookie is wearing those same robes, and there is blood on a very big knife. Someone is getting sacrificed...
The countdown has begun… only two episodes left in the season. The mob reports back to Maryann, proudly telling her that God smote Sam. Maryann, of course, is incensed by this – she wanted to smite him herself! Bill goes to the Vampire Queen for help (if you've been following our reporting here on FEARnet, you'll know she's played by Rachel Evan Wood, Marilyn Manson's ex), while Sam teams up with Eric. After all that happened in Dallas, I'd like to believe that Eric has no (or few) ulterior motives with helping Bon Temps – is that naive of me? Jason, meanwhile, is stockpiling weapons: "Sometimes you need to destroy a town to save it."
Next week, with only three episodes left, Sookie, Jason, and Bill return to Bon Temps to find the town resembling the Sunday morning after a house party with your parents away. The streets are abandoned save for piles of trash that float like tumbleweeds; buildings are in disrepair, as if the town has been deserted for decades. Maryann's power has seeped into every corner of town, and she seems to be preparing for the apocalypse. Tara is entirely under Maryann's thumb. Bill doesn't know how to stop her – she is too powerful. Jason, however, is optimistic. This is the war he was training for. Plus, he gets to wield a big-ass chainsaw.
It's pretty obvious that Luke's homemade vamp bomb did not have the desired effect. I hope it didn't kill Luke in the process – he's a delightfully insane vampophobe. The Newlins are taking their case to the 24-hour news cycle, and we learn that Steve's hatred of vampires is because they killed his father. And it looks like Maryann will finally be exposed. A bruised and battered Tara is worried that she is out of control, but doesn't understand why or how this happened. Maryann pointedly tells her, "You need to be out of control – we crave it!" Later she marches into Merlotte's, looking for Sam, and makes no bones about using him as a sacrifice.
