THE HOST

THE HOST

I was apprehensive about watching this movie due to all the ass kissing by American critics. I was very surprised and i liked it for what it was. It was a smart and quick paced old school monster movie that kept my attention. It had some really interesting moments in it. I would say that this revives my interest in modern horror

I liked the movie as a whole, even though I was a little disappointed at the ending.

It was very sad at the ending. However, NOT a bad ending. Actualy pretty genuise. It was a great technique. They added alittle humor through out the film so you think even though it looks darck you think it will turn out ok. When it dosent you are just shocked. Its was really smart of whowever wrote this film.

I liked the ending. It made the story satisfying. Not a scary movie ending, but I didn't think this was much of a scary movie in general.. more of a weird asian monster dark comedy. or something.

Some of the humor was a little forced or just did'nt seem right at certain moments, But I still loved the movie.

Since when was it necessary for a scary movie to have a scary ending?

Overall, I enjoyed the film.

It didn't play the "keep the monster in the shadows and leave it to the audience's imagination," but the creature design was hugely effective in a fantastical sense. I wasn't frightening of a monster attacking my reality, but in this fantasy world I truly felt for the prey of this ugly fiend!

And the humour and the family drama provided nice contrast to the monster/political horror.

What a piece of crap. Unless you're interested in watching a grown Korean man over-acting and crying all the time while his daughter is attacked by a mutated fish... avoid this film. And the fact that a critic said that this film is "on par with Jaws" is a joke. I wouldn't even say that this movie was on par with Leprechaun: Back 2 Tha Hood. Save yourself the time and money... go rent a care bear's movie and by pass The Host.

I think JAWS is a crappy movie.

Seriously, did you even watch more than 5 minutes? The guy only overacted in one scene, just for comeidic affect, and in that scene They were ALL over acting. The lead roll was a great actor, the special effects were great, the plot was captivating, honestly, if you didnt like this movie, then you should probably stop watching movies.

If I am understanding you correctly, you've stated that Jaws is a crappy movie. If this is the case than The Host is definitely "on par with Jaws.

Odviously you dont understand my point. There is no reason to go on a messageboard, and talk bad about a moviethat everyone else liked. If you didnt like it, then say so in a respectful way, and give more specific reasons why you didnt like it. If you cant be mature about talking about a movie you dont like, then I suggest you only go on threads about movies you do like.

I only said that about Jaws to show you how it felt.
