What movie scared you as a child?

I remember going to see SLEEPING BEAUTY as a child. When we got home that night, I was afraid that the evil queen was on top of our house as my dad pulled into the driveway. That movie really got to me!

Anyone else with memories to share?

Honestly Nosferatu creeped the hell out of me when i was young... as well as Night of the Living Dead... both of those movies are responsible for my addiction to horror.

I saw a STILL from Nosferatu in a book about the history of horror films when I was 5 or 6, it terrified me & gave me nightmares for years. I didn't see the movie until I was a teenager. I now have a nosferatu doll  & yes, I have slept w/it.

well i would have to say that IT was the first movie i saw that scared me enough to be afraid of walking by sewers with openings, thinking that something was going to drag me down there.

I was about 10 when Friday the 13th was released on HBO and I watched it at my uncles house. It was great until jason jumped out of the water at the end. I went from the chair to the back of the couch hiding behind my Uncle. That part to this days scares me even though I know it is coming.

When I was only about 5 or 6 yrs old, my dad took me to see Burnt Offerings. That movie was rated PG but it scared the hell outta me! I can still remember the spooky grin on that chauffer's face and what it insinuated.

Another victim of the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Not only were the Ompa Lompas creepy, but the boat ride was disturbing, Gene Wilder was a deranged lunatic and I was tramatized by the scene were the gum chewing girl turned purple and became huge and was rolled away by the Ompa Lompas. I was afraid to eat candy or gum for a long time, I was certain this would happen to me. Not a good movie for a seven year old!

The first real horror movie that scared me was Amittyville Horror. Saw this when I was ten and was afraid to ever look at the rocking chair on the way to the bathroom at night, I was sure it would be rocking! To this day I'm a bit creeped out by rocking chairs.
