What movie scared you as a child?

I remember going to see SLEEPING BEAUTY as a child. When we got home that night, I was afraid that the evil queen was on top of our house as my dad pulled into the driveway. That movie really got to me!

Anyone else with memories to share?

THE OTHER was a creepy movie to me when I was a kid.  But some of the best horror I can't remember was 60's and 70's low budget horror, usually involving a young girl who is chased by vampires but in the end wakes up to find it was all a dream....or was it?Tongue out

I must be old but Psycho scared the hell out of me. I spent years in the shower as a paranoid mess because of that...lol.

I'm with the OP on this one--Disney movies were terrifying when I was a kid. Ursula scared the shit out of me.

Only a few movies truly scared me as a kid: Magic, The Shining, Pet Sematary. And Jurassic Park - I think I was actually a teenager when I saw that, but those raptors still freak me out.

    Hello Fellow Fear Fans:

Being new here I'm not sure I should even say this but..ah, what the heck.  The movie that scared me the most when I was young was the original "House On The Haunted Hill," starring Vincent Price.  Though I was pretty young I actually saw (well, we could debate that I suppose) it at the movie theater.

I had just started being able to see "Monster" movies on TV, some of them hosted by the Cool Ghoul; Zacherley.  Anyway, I saw that there was this new scary movie out so I begged and pleaded with my sister to take me (she is 9 years older) and then to my parents to let me go.  At first they weren't so sure because I was so young (give me abreak, I was a mature man of 5 1/2 years).  I finally talked them into it and that saturday afternoon my sister and I went to the movie.

I was all excited as we walked into the theater.  Little did I know that my excitement was about to turn into a terror filled afternoon.  The movie had just started, the lights of the theater dimming to just glowing embers.  It wasn't long after the movie started that I began to notice the louder sound of the theater made sounds a little spooky.  Then the wandering around the mansion while spooky music played made me a little fidgety.  Then, when the girl got locked in that room and screamed, well...that was it.  On the floor I went hoping that I could get away from that movie.  My sister said to get up but no way.

I sayed on that floor until film's end and nearly crawled from the theater.  That was the day I learned about true "FEAR."  Deep inside, though, I couldn't wait to experience it again.   From that day forward...I was hooked.

   Have a Great Day!!!

   The "Creature"
