I used to watch it as a kid and they usually scared the crap out of me. When I found it on DVD I got it and even though it doesnt scare me anymore, it's still very fun to watch. Truly a great show for it's time and I wish it had continued on for a few more seasons.
Got the original series AND the original movies on DVD, and the only thing I really liked about the new series was the cameo of the original Kolchek in the pilot.

Dude, get it! One of the best horror tv series of all time, IMHO. Darren McGavin made the show and there were a handful of the 20 episodes that were quite creepy. Like all shows, certain episodes are better than others but for sheer nostalgia sake...buying the DVD set is worth every penny. Pick up the DVD of the initial movie "The Night Stalker" from 72' and the follow-up movie, "The Night Strangler" from 73'that spawned the ongoing series. Both can be found on a "double feature" DVD and are quite good themselves...especially "The Night Stalker."
