Two movies that are quite hard to find nowadays, but have some great moments in their storylines and delivery...
1) Clownhouse--Are you afraid of clowns? Many people are. And I would dare say that some became coulrophobic after they saw this movie. Something about being home on a farm in the middle of the night and having three homicidal lunatics dressed as circus clowns peering through the window at me just makes me want to curl up in a fetal position in the corner of my room. That's all I'm gonna give away...just a "teaser taste."
and 2) I, Madman--again, not well known. I would never have heard of it, had I not been a fan of Fangoria Magazine. Okay, here's your "teaser taste" (a.k.a. "trickle of blood"): A genius surgeon falls in love with a woman, who (of course) spurns him. Despondent, he gets very drunk, shoots his face up with novocaine and then surgically removes his scalp, his ears, his nose and his lips--everything he believes the woman finds unappealing. He then wraps his face up and scours the streets, searching for the people with the facial features that are envied by most. He then shoves a tranquilizer-laden hyperdermic into them and proceeds to excise those cherished facial features for the purpose of grafting them onto his own face so that his dreamgirl will fall in love with him....Okay, one more "trickle of blood"...Close your eyes (not right now, silly! Keep reading and do it after! Geesh!) and imagine walking to your apartment down a lonely hallway with that "sickening feeling" you're being stalked. You see nothing and brush it off as nerves. Then you see him--a figure at the end of the hall in black suit, coat, and hat (looking purposefully much like the images we conjure to mind when we think of Jack the Ripper) staring at you. As you gasp and fumble for your keys, he brandishes the syringe, walking quickly and deliberately toward you. And how freaking long does it take to find the right key and turn it the correct way to go into the lock when you are scared out of your mind? Okay, that's all you get for now...if you want more you'll have to find it (good luck!) or join me in asking Fearnet to find it for us.
Fearnet, please please PLEASE find those two movies and play them for us! You will make me so very happy to finally be a little creeped out like I was when I first saw them! Furthermore, I want more people to see them so I'm not the only one scared to look out my window at night!
