Songs That Have Changed Your Life

Let's face it, horror movies and big-shot directors are the latest novelty on this website but what happened to good, old-fashioned music?  Movies may tantalize one's senses temporarily but music provides acute inspiration and has the ability to transform our lives, for the better or worse.  What you message you get out of a song is entirely up to you and this message varies based on the person and their personality.  So tell me, what songs have changed your life and if it's possible, post the lyrics.  Have fun but not too much fun (Brainwashing the public and having them do your nefarious bidding is tempting but does not count as "fun")

Somewhere a clock strikes midnight.....And there's a full moon in the sky.....

You hear a dog bark in the distance.....You hear someones baby cry.......

A rat runs down the alley, and a chill runs down your spine...

And someone walks across a grave, and you wish the sun would shine....

But noones gonna warn you, noones gonna yell attack....

And you won't feel my steel, til it's hanging out your back......

I'm the Night Prowler, I sleep in the day......

Night Prowler, get out of my way....

Well, you get the idea....AC/DC, lead singer-Bon Scott....

The serial killer Richard Rimirez, had a Teac reel to reel in his house that detectives found after his arrest...This song was on a 2 hour tape, on the player, recorded over, and over, and over again, for the entire 2 hours of the tape.....

If you listen to some of Bon Scott's lyrics...Well, their just unbelievable...Powerage, High Voltage are two fantastic rock and roll albums...If you ever, I mean ever, just want to get down and rock, get to jamming on these two albums....You won't be disappointed.....peace-zigzag

How ironic that you mention AC/DC!  I had the pleasure of seeing them in concert several weeks ago and let me just say. this band certainly knows what the public enjoys!  Have you checked out "Black Ice" yet?  It's an excellent album, but their style hasn't much...(Which is good or bad, depending on your point of view.)

I am an AC DC fan from way way back, I must say though that they have never been as good as when BON SCOTT was front man. BJ has done a great job, but.... the lyrics aren't near as good and Bon had a nasty dirty little tone to his voice that cannot, in my opinion be replaced.

I gotta give those boys props thought, they are still rocking just as hard as ever!!!

Dig that babuh....Bon just had it going on...Like you said, Brian has done as good a job as could be done...Back in Black, fuckin' awesome....But in the end, he's not Bon Scott...Bon's lyrics were just evil...Nasty...After listening to a couple of his songs, you wanted to fuck something, or kill something...And most of the time, both...And for the people that either didn't see them in concert with Bon, or weren't around for it, yall missed one of the truly great ones....I've been lucky enough to see them 5 times...3 with Bon, 2 with Brian...And everytime, they were great....peace-zigzag

A lot of bull was going on in my life when I hit my older teen years.  Not a lot of drugs or anything like that.  Never knew my dad and when I confronted his parents (my grandparents) they told me he had a new life and asked me how much money I wanted to leave him alone.  I was graduating at the top of my class, I had several scholarship opprotunities, two Ivy League collages that were going to accept me tuition paid.  I had it made, I just wanted my dad to be there.  It killed me when it didn't happen like that.  My grandparents just looked at me like a piece of trash.  I told them to keep their money that one day they would be begging me for some.  Promised them that.  Then left.  The two years that followed were a downward spiral.  Whilst listening to Metallica Fade 2 Black I just got lost in the music and grabbed a knife without really thinking and when I saw what I was about to do.  It dawned on me that nobody is worth that kind of pain.  Now that is my favorite song.  When I hear it.  It pisses me off cause I had the guts to off myself back then and didn't do cause I thought everthing would be better...yeah right.  LOL  kidding about that last part...  No, I listen to it and it reminds me what a chicken shit way out suicide is.  Live life and enjoy the ride.  Unless your like me and ride just keeps dropping down and down and down and down and just keeps making you sicker and sicker and sicker till you are sitting there wondering when the hell are they going to stop this thing???  I hate f'in roller coasters..  Wait, I am thinking of Six Flags again.  Where was I.  Oh Yeah!  Don't do drugs!!

the one song that has changed my life is Celine Dion's "My heart will go on" from Titanic. after the death of my father in 97 i felt a void in my life, he was a drug addict and alcholic, so hearing this song makes me feel that my heart will go on after all the emotional pain he put me through.

This song didnt change my life but I find the lyrics very powerfull.  It affected how I react with other people.

Creed: What If?

I can't find the rhyme in all my reason
Lost sense of time and all seasons
Feel I've been beaten down
By the words of men who have no grounds
Can't sleep beneath the trees of wisdom
When your ax has cut the roots that feed them
Forked tongues in bitter mouths
Can drive a man to bleed from inside out

What if you did?
What if you lied?
What if I avenge?
What if eye for an eye?

I've seen the wicked fruit of your vine
Destroy the man who lacks a strong mind
Human pride sings a vengeful song
Inspired by the times you've been walked on
My stage is shared by many millions
Who lift their hands up high because they feel this
We are one We are strong
The more you hold us down the more we press on

What if you did?
What if you lied?
What if I avenge?
What if eye for an eye?

I know I can't hold the hate inside my mind
'Cause what consumes your thoughts controls your life
So I'll just ask a question
A lonely simple question
I'll just ask one question
What if? What if?
What if? What if?
What If I?

What if? What if?
What if? What if?
What If I?

What if? What if?
What if? What if?
What If I?

What if? What if?
What if? What if?
What If I?

What if you did?
What if you lied?
What if I avenge?
What if eye for an eye?

What if your words could be judged like a crime?

What if? What if?
What if? What if?
What If I?

What if? What if?
What if? What if?
What If I?

What if? What if?
What if? What if?
What If I?

What if? What if?
What if? What if?
What If I?
