i watch Silver Bullet and all the classics (i.e. Swamp Thing, Creature From the Black Lagoon, Wolfman, Frankenstein, etc, etc) every year 'cause it reminds me of Halloween as a kiddo... i also watch old episodes of The Groovie Goolies... 'cause i'm a dork.

All the old classic Universal monster movies (Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, Wolf Man, Invisible Man) are great for Halloween as well as a good nostalgia trip, plus a few Godzilla movies (orig. Godzilla, Ghidrah, Godz. vs. Smog Monster) and 1950's giant monster flicks (Them, Beast From 20,000 Fathoms, 7th Voyage of Sinbad). I still like to throw in some real horror for balance, especially 70's movies (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Squirm, Frogs, The Car) or weird semi-unintelligible Euro-horror (Vampyres, Oasis of the Zombies, Living Dead Girl). Throw in newer classics (Dawn of the Dead '78, The Thing '82, Phantasm, Cemetery Man) and some modern stuff (Dog Soldiers, High Tension, The Descent) and you're in for a good Halloween.

I just went to a Halloween Movie lock in- we were there from 8pm-6:15 am the next morning! hahaa! They played Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hide (1932), House of Frankenstein (w/Lon Chaney and Boris Karloff), Scream Blackula, Scream (from the 70's and it was hilariously awesome!), Motel Hell (a classic in my mind), another vampire movie from the 70's but I can't remember the name, and Trick R Treat 2009.

I personally love the really bad B movies! hahaa! Like "Bad Taste" and Troma films...and stuff from Full Moon. One from Full moon that comes to mind is called "Head of the Family"- I dunno if you can find that one anywhere- I have it on VHS! hahaa! I've never seen a DVD for it...

is The Car the one about the car with the blacked out windows that has no driver and just drives around fucking with people out in Utah? if so, i have been trying to think of the name of that movie for, like, a year... and feel really stupid for not remembering such a ridiculously simple name...

That's the one. It stars James Brolin as sherriff of a small desert town that for some reason is menaced by Satan's cadillac. One of my favorites.
