30 Days of Days?

30 Days of Days?

I really don't know how the people way up north deal with this.  When they have nothing but darkness for 30 days in the middle of winter, how do they keep everything from freezing solid? We have a little ice storm here and there, in the winter, and everyone's freaking out saying the national guard will have to plow us out, restore power lines / cable, salt roads etc. because the state is too cheap and near sighted to plan for an event that comes around every year without fail.

If the people way up North have 30 or more days of night, how many days of days do they have where it's like bright 24/7 (maybe the same amount of time)?

Thanks for the input.  "Cabin Fever," is setting in early this winter.  Day or night I think that when it's that cold, vamps and people alike would probably prefer to hybernate.

In northern Norway, the get 4 straight months of darkness, and 4 straight months of light.

BARROWS ALASKA HAS 67 DAYS OF NIGHT, NOT 30.

It also has 82-83 straight days of sunlight.

It would be pretty interesting to experience that, but its just so darn cold up there.  Sure there's probably darkness parties though, like how in FL they have hurricane parties.
