Did not care for From a Buick 8. In fact, after I read that one I was thinking the well must have really dried up. Last King book I read that I really enjoyed, aside from the older classics, was Bag of Bones. A lot of his newer stuff is hit or miss for me. But that's just me. Innocent

I don't read a lot but I did read Night Flyer and saw the movie...they both were good...the book was more indepth but the movie was all stuff no fluff..so I guess the movie moved me more than the book..sorry I can't quote a line of his books I've read...but I've seen and own a load of his movies..

The first Stephen King book I ever read was "Salem's Lot" when I was 12-my mom gave it to me to read. I have been a King fan ever since. I own almost all of his books-it's a work in progress. My favorites would have to be his classics: Carrie, The Shining, The Stand, Salem's Lot, Pet Semetary, etc. I also like some of his newer books though, like Insomnia, Cell, and The Green Mile. Of course, the absolute best work he has ever done is The Dark Tower Series...I can't get enough of The Gunslingers. His newer books may not always be as great as the classics, but I'm a loyal fan, and I still love them all.

As for movies, that's hard to say...I like what they did with Stand By Me, Shawshank Redemption, and The Green Mile-those became dramas more than anything else, but I love those movies. I think his made for TV movies are the best, like Storm of the Century, Rose Red, The Stand, Salem's Lot (the original), and It, simply because they can get more of the original story in there.

But there are some really good big screen movies, like Carrie, The Mist, and Kubrik's The Shining, to name a few. My Stephen King movie collection is catching up to my book collection. I don't think it's fair to compare the books versus the movies, though, because you're talking apples and oranges. I love them both...Long Live The King!!

I have read "From a Buick8".  I felt that one was decent, maybe a bit over the top at times, however I liked the way he handled the slime monster the cops hacked to death with pick axes.

Finally got to read Cujo, holy crap that dog is terrifying.  Makes me glad I have an 8 pound cat who's had her rabies vaccine, lol.

Currently reading IT.  Really enjoyed The Stand up until the ending with Tom taking care of Stu, that part dragged.  Other than that, amazing book!

Bag of Bones was cool.  I found myself really liking that book, he took what could've been a dicey subject and made into something really engaging and at times touching.

Oh, and I meant it when I said someone let me know how to find an uncut version of the movie "IT" with opening scenes with the little girl in the hanging linens and then the little boy with the paper boat that goes into the sewer! Yell

I've tried getting into Stephen King's books but they just never grab me.

Film wise though I do love the adaptations. When it comes to a Stephen King personal appearance, Creepshow is my all time favorite :).
