Saw the pic of Rob Zombies tour for this in the photo section. Anybody have this? If so, what do you think?
I have it, and some songs are good, but for the most part it all kinda sounds the same. Overall, it's ok/good to me.
I really miss White Zombie. Just great riffs and lyrics on their albums. Since he's gone on his own, it just hasn't been the same. You get a feeling with this new one that he's trying to get the White Zombie vibe back, but can't seem to get it done all the way.
What do you folks think?
Here And Know
I have all the songs he did from white zombie a know and they so great to me but I'm a true fan thou since high school.

Re: Hellbilly Deluxe 2
I've had it for a month or so. But it was leaked early, and that's how I got it. I really wanted it to sound like his older stuff, and to an extent it does, but like I said, it just doesn't seem to get all the way there.
It's good, I was just expecting more old school Rob Zombie from the title.
re:Hellbilly Deluxe 2
i got it and love it. white zombie is what it was, a great thing.but
the new album is great, i don't know why people just want him to keep making the same album and songs over again, that would just be boring. give it a few listens, it'll grow on you. rob's a very busy guy, look at what he's done in the past few years. films, animated films, comic books, artwork, etc, and all high quality stuff that no one can match, no one can touch that.even Queintin Tarantino who i love hasn't done anything recently to stand up to rob's stuff. look at james cameron, it took him 15 years to release his latest piece of garbage. anyway, that's my bitch, i think we need to look at and admire his contributions to horror and music. he's a true artist.
i do apologize if that came off a little harsh, but if you look at what's come out in music and horror lately and compare it to his, it puts it in perspective.
Re: Hellbilly Deluxe 2
I just got it yesterday, but I haven't listened to it yet. One of the cavemen (hubby's friends) got it and saved it to his pc, so he gave the disk to me cause he didn't want it once he'd gotten it saved. That was kind of a nice surprise I wasn't expecting. I'll let you know what I think after I play it. It's out in my car right now, which is not here.
Re: Hellbilly Deluxe 2
No not harsh at all. I wanted a discussion like this. I'm a big Rob Zombie fan, both of his movies and his music.
I didn't want this album to be the same as his old stuff, I just wanted that heavy vibe back, like the first Hellbilly and La Sexorcisto.
It seemed like when White Zombie ended he almost added a sort of techno vibe to his music. Some of it was good, but I didn't care for a lot of it.
Hellbilly Deluxe 1 was good with Living Dead Girl, Dragula, How To Make A Monster etc. And I've loved La Sexorcisto since the day it came out. Evry song on that album is great.
I've listened to it a few times, I'll try some more, but to me it just doesn't have the feel of the older stuff. I don't want the same stuff over again, but I want the songs to rock like the older ones and to me, on this one the don't.
Some are heavy and rock, but some are just meh to me. I'll listen again, but so far it's good, but not up there with the others I mentioned. IMO.
