Well, since only being in my early 20s I'd have to go with Tales from the Crypt as my favorite horror television show.

Man! Did that show scare the hee-bee-jee-beez out of me.

Other horror shows that I thought were cool:

Poltergeist: The Legacy (1996)

Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction (1997)

The Outer Limits (1995 version)

Tales from the Darkside (1984)

and Goosebumps (1995)

Yeah, good time. Good times.

I was trying to recall this show because I remember watching it on the Sci-Fi Channel a couple years ago. I looked it up on wikipedia and learned quite a bit I was not aware of. First,  I was thinking of the revival series that was narrated by Mitch Pileggi (Shocker, The X-Files). There was certainly a cheesiness to the show but I liked it. Well I also learned that this was a revival of the series which aired in the 70's after two successful tv specials narrated by none other then Rod Serling (The Twilight Zone). After his death Leonard Nimoy would take over for the series that was spun off from the specials. Back to the revival show, even though there was a level of cheesiness I guess it was a guilty pleasure. I liked watching all the creepy re-enacted stuff. My favorite episodes was the one on Hell, and the other that was on zombies. While I would love to see the original, especially those specials narrated by Serling, I still liked the revival in a guilty pleasure kind of way.

This show, only lasting two seasons in the early '70s, gave me nightmares as a child, and only when i saw some of the episodes again in my late teens did i finally know where those nightmares came from. Not as scary as an adult, but still entertaining. Kolchak: The Night Stalker was another good one during this time. From Britain, there is a series called Sapphire and Steel that I highly recommend. It's sci-fi, but the creatures and situations are actually quite scary, for its time.
