What's Your Halloween Junk-food List?

About Devil's Trade

Three teenagers incur the wrath of a deadly curse when one of them purchases a presumably harmless wooden cross at www.DevilsTrade.com. After a series of ominous events, they set off on a race to return the cross to its rightful owner and avoid their own morbid fates.

What's Your Halloween Junk-food List?

Halloween is just around the corner.  I started my count-down a while ago though, probably since last year.  To me Halloween isn't just about scary movies (even though they are totally cool), but it's also a time to celebrate.  Many people celebrate New Years by being inebriated but I don't think I'm going that route for Halloween but I definitely will be indulging in some junk food.  Not sure what variety as of yet but a few specialties are totally written in stone, they include but are not limited to:

1) Snickers

2) Popcorn

3) Buffalo Ranch Doritos

4) And probably some other variety of food that would totally creep people out, but tastes good.

I'm still torn on whether I should also add some pizza, cherries, pumpkin pie and perhaps a corn-dog or two? I will have more chocolate then just Snickers as well, but not sure which other varieties I'll be shopping for next, maybe some almond joy bars, Nestle Crunch, or Hershey's Symphony.

Thanks H.F. for the recipe.  I found some other "dirt" recipes that are mostly chocolate and require no cooking.  I'll list the three below: starting with #1)

dirt dessert1

What You Need:

1 pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding

1 pkg.  (4-serving size) JELL-O Chocolate Instant Pudding

1 qt. (4 cups) cold milk, divided

1 cup  thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, divided

20 OREO Cookies, finely crushed

16   worm-shaped chewy fruit snacks

Make It:

PREPARE vanilla and chocolate pudding mixes separately with milk as directed on packages. Let stand 5 minutes. Gently stir 1/2 cup of the whipped topping into each bowl of pudding.

SPRINKLE 1 Tbsp. of the cookie crumbs into bottom of each of 8 (6-oz.) dessert cups; top each with layers of 1/4 cup vanilla pudding, 1 Tbsp. cookie crumbs and 1/4 cup chocolate pudding. Sprinkle evenly with remaining cookie crumbs. Refrigerate at least 1 hour or until ready to serve.

INSERT 2 fruit snacks into each dessert just before serving.

Here's recipe #2 of the dirt dessert that I might try but will use chocolate ice-cream instead of yogurt and a ton of more oreos.  Again, no bake.

dirt dessert2

What You Need:

12 OREO Cookies, finely crushed, divided (about 1 cup crumbs)

1 pt.  (2 cups) frozen chocolate or vanilla yogurt

1/4 cup chocolate syrup

1/2 cup COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

8 worm-shaped chewy fruit snacks

Make It:

SPOON half of the cookie crumbs evenly into 4 dessert dishes, placing about 2 Tbsp. of the crumbs in each dish.

TOP each with 1/2cup yogurt, 1/4 of the remaining cookie crumbs and 1 Tbsp.syrup.

ADD dollop of whipped topping and fruit snack to each dessert.

Substitute ice cream for the frozen yogurt or add chocolate pudding with the ice-cream.

I had a recipe for dirt dessert #3 with cream cheese but I can't get it to appear no matter how I format it.  Sorry guys and gals.  If you find the cream cheese one though, post it because it seems like a good recipe.

I might just try and make a cream cheese, chocolate pudding, oreo dirt dessert recipe combo out of the three recipes though I'm missing #3 in my post because of the format problem..  I don't have a pic for this one but the concept is kind-of the same. Seems like it would taste better.

Hoping too that I can find a recipe that combines pumpkin pie, cherry cheese-cake, mud dessert and cookie crumbs.  I might have to make my own but not sure where to start with that one. I'll figure it out I suppose.

I really like the little Snickers bars. As a general rule, I don't eat sweets. Bad for the teeth and not my thing.

But, this time of the year, I can tear up some of those little Snickers bars and not feel bad. It's Halloween, lol. They're usually gone before the first trick or treater get's there, lol.
