Which Movie Would You Remake?

We all know that most remakes suck. I don't know why people insist on remaking movies that already kick ass. They should remake the shitty ones. Last night I was watching some of the William Castle movies on Fearnet and thought that The Tingler and Mr. Sardonicus could be great if remade correctly.

     Any other ideas??

IF YOU REALLY THINK ABOUT THIS QUESTION,ITS A HARD ONE BY THAT I MEAN TAKE ANY MOVIE AND YOU SEE WHO THE MAIN PEOPLE ARE,THEN TRY TO SEE IT WITH DIFFRENT PEOPLE STARING IN IT.NO ONE SEEMS TO BEABLE TO TAKE THEIR PLACE.SAY IN THE MOVIE JAWS,NO ONE ELSE COULD HAVE PLAYED CAPT. QUIENT OR THE CHEIF. I TRY TO PICTURE DIFFRENT PEOPLE PLAYING THE PARTS AND THEY JUST DON'T FIT.PLUS MAKING DIFFRENT PARTS OF THE MOVIE JUST WOULD NOT SEEM TO WORK ALSO. BORIS KARLOF, NO ONE COULD PLAY THE PARTS BETTER THEN HIM,AT LEAST FROM THE ONES I'VE SEEN, THE MUMMY, FRANKENSTIEN. YES OTHERS HAVE DONE THE MOVIES BUT KARLOF HAS THAT SPECIAL TOUCH. TO ME HE WAS THE BOMB IN THE MOVIES HE DID. OF CORSE THEIR ARE SOME MOVIES THAT WERE MADE THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BENN MADE TO BEGIN WITH IN THE FIRST PLACE. THEY WERE JUST PLAIN BAD,HA,HA. LIKE THIS ONE MOVIE I SEEN CALLED DRIVE INN, THAT MOVIE SOUNDED GOOD BUT THE MOVIE WAS SO RANK,I MEAN IT STUNK!!! THE WORST B MOVIE I EVER SAW.NOW IF THEY REMAID THAT WITH SOMEONE WHO KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING IT MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN TO BAD,IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORTH THE WATCH,BUT IT WOULD TAKE SOME DOING!!

     Hello:

I agree that there should be more original movies but if you reall;y think about it there are lots of new original movies all the time.  Sure there are remakes and re-envisioning but they are probably less than 10% of the movies made.  The New take on the Mummy was great and I really liked what they did with it.  To remake the original would have been a mistake.  They did the same thing with Frankenstein and Dracula and they worked out.   Zontarr; The Thing From Venus was a remake of "It Conquered The World and almost verbatim.  Now that was a true remake only the replaced Beaulah with Mothman for a monster.

Anyway, Probably the reason they make the number of re-makes they do is because people know the films already so they can get by for less advertising and people will still come because they know the movie.  That sure beats an unknown story coming out of the starting gate.

I personally would rather see a new treatment or more-or-less a sequel than an actual re-make.  For years I've heard rumors of a re-make of "Creature From The Black Lagoon" but haven't heartd of a final scrpt yet.  That's why I'm writing my own script and it won't harm the original at all because it's actually a sequel.  It picks up where the third movie left off.  Probably nobody from Universal will ever look at the script but I'm writing it anyway.  It's not too bad so far.  It's tough to work it into modern times but I think I've got it figured out.  The CREATURE is my favorite classic monster so I do not plan on doing it an injustice.  We'll see.

By the way, I agree, "The Tingler" would be a good movie to re-make.

Have a Great Day and...Pleasant Screams!!!
