Favourite 50's horror films?

Unfortunately, I was not around to experience the b-movie phenomenon of the 40's-50's. The movies of this time were some of the cheesiest, silliest, all-round funnest movies to experience. It was an era of UFO's, Atomic Radiation and giant-mutated creatures. Anything goes in these films. And thats what made them great. Did anyone have a favorite? Mine was House on Haunted Hill (1959). It starred Vincent Price and some scenes still scare the living hell outta me.

See my post on the "Scariest Movie" thread for my take on "House on the Haunted Hill."  I like the movie even today.  I try to watch it at least once a year.

Some of my favorite "50's" movies are; "Them," "The Black Scorpion," "Attack of the Crab Monsters," "Attack of the Giant Leeches, "This Island Earth," "The Creature dfrom the Black Lagoon," and, of course, "Forbidden Planet."

There are lots of others but those are some of my Favorites.

   Have a Great Day!!!

FORBIDDEN PLANET is the hands down winner of its time. Also liked, THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD, THEM, HOUSE OF WAX, INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS, THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN, THE BLOB, HAMMER STUDIOS DRACULA with the great Christopher Lee, THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN with Lee and the also great Peter Cushing, HAMMERS ' REVENGE OF FRANKENSTEIN, THE FLY, my childhood favs and little seen CALTIKI THE IMMORTAL MONSTER and THE HIDEOUS SUN DEMON as well as TERROR IS A MAN, and last but not least THE TINGLER. The 50s was a treasure trove of the great and cheesy but always entertaining horror.
