Punk WESTERN Horror Short Film

Punk WESTERN Horror Short Film

Super8Steve's picture

If you have 4 min, check out this short film "T is for Termite"  told in the pulpy style of writer Robert E. Howard's weird western horror tales.  It's about a punk exterminator who goes into abandoned houses to clear them of unspeakable termite monstrosities.

Thanks for your time and consideration

Thanks Brother for the vid embed. I'm a newb.  I'd be curious to learn what about it you didn't feel.  I'm always trying to learn from these things and am open to any critical feedback.

first off am just gonna say i dont really know fuck all about making films so not sure how much value my opinions are really worth but i just found it oddly paced on the 1st viewing

anyway i watched it again & made some notes

i liked the location & the character & was fully intregued up to 1:22 - wasnt kean on the upward camera angle entering the shack/house (loved the look of that) i think it would have looked better following him from behind through the 1st & 2nd door if possible - i liked the corridor bit 1:42

it lost me around 2:00 it kinda shifted to much & i didnt like the "fuck off" on the end of the gun coming up again that should have been a 1 time thing

wasnt keen on the music but thought maybe it should have kept playing untill the 2nd time it stopped around 3:13 because once the pace got going it stopped again for the photo & i would of prefered it if it had kinda rocked on!

i did like it more on the 2nd viewing & i have watched it 3 times before typing this

was the termite thing a mutant human thing then? cuz of the band on it & the character?

Hey Klownz

I really appreciate you taking the time to view it and offering your thoughts.  I definitely can see how starting and stopping the music can seemingly kill the pacing.  You are correct in that the soldier termite is a mutation and was once a human, possibly someone close to the main character.   Thanks again.

i finally got around to watching ypur short man. not bad actually. i like the cinematography and the editing was good, you can direct a scene obviously. i didnt mind the music, i kinda knew what you were going for. the only thing i will say regarding feedback is the ending. i think you showed the monster a little longer than needed. i felt it worked when you just showed the shadow and quick cuts of the body. but over all not bad. also the ending was a little confusing but again i think i knew what you were saying. but rock on man!
