I think the writers/producers finally understood that they were making the Sheriff just a TAD. . . . . . . . WUSS. Just a bit too much touchy feely for a ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE scenario so they decided to show us he could man up as shown by him taking out the potential bad guys. NICE job Sheriff ! LOL. I enjoyed that for sure. I liked the eppy. Not enough HORROR but again, this is a drama that happens to wrap around horror. Its bringing more non horror heads into the fold, let it PLAY. . . . There was some nice character interaction as Hershel, the farmer starts snapping back to normal. He didnt seem to have a problem with the bad guys getting greased. Seems he understood the world just fine once again. Shane is going a little over the top with the out of control thing considering how dependable he was before. I hope they dont start writing by the seat of their pants like the dumb LOST did.
To be honest i feel cheated. I waited 3 months to see this shit and there was barely any violence or defining moments. They spent the whole first half of the fuckin season doing character shit. Lets get down to some extreme action and heart breaking moments.
I might be the minority here but i really enjoyed this episode as i thought the character development was well done. And when the story is good you don't need gun play to keep it entertaining.
The episode went about how I thought it would. I wasn't excpecting anything big yet because of the bang the last part of the season ended with. Even though it won't happen I am hoping they kill off a few of the main characters before the seasons end.
For one, Dale absolutely has to go! I am sick of that big, everything will be ok let's not resort to violence pussy! Hopefully someone puts a bullet in his head.
Shane is one of the few realistic people on the show, and my favorite character. He is the only one who takes the zombie apocolypse for what it is. A FUCKING WAR! Screw being nice, It's about survival!
just caught it,, good to see the ole gang back,, thought the bar scene was great stuff,, rik really showed us some nice action, !!!agreed shanes a fookin nut!
i carnt watch it till this god damn laptop gets fixed! I dont care about spoilers so can someone give me a quick rundown on what the reaction to the barn incident was like
The reaction was what one might expect. EXTREME shock. The Asian character, Glen, expresses it best in speaking to Beth, the farmers daughter. They were convinced they would find her and save her, and looked at her, in my opinion, almost as a symbol of hope. Very dramatic and well acted episode. The same with the farmer Hershel, who starts to realize how deluded he was and starts to act ashamed, angry, defensive.
nice one mate i was anticipating the new episode to be full of drama & character development ETC. sounds like peeps havent really enjoyed it that much though ........ i carnt wait to see it i rekon i will get my sis to download it for me since my computer is a nightmare right now
What I liked best was that I was getting tired of the Sheriff behaving TOO much like uncapable. Sometimes he was too clueless, other times too sensitive, other times too unsure. They are starting to show that he IS someone to be reckoned with which was a nice change. It might be that Shane was starting to become TOO much the alpha male so now they are showing that the Sheriff IS the man. What was great about the bar scene is that both the writers and the actors did a REALISTIC, subtle, build up of menace that most people cant appreciate if you havent been in a situation like that. EXCELLENT work by both actors and writers and NOT just the shoot em up. The way Grimes initially has an untrusting feeling of the new humans coming to the bar, the way it grows, the way Hershel starts halfway in to SHARE that feeling despite his no harm to anyone way of life and the way Glen FINALLY realizes that something is wrong. REALLY well done.
The episode is great, its just NOT JUST ABOUT HORROR. Catch a flick instead. This is a bit more thinking and a bit less visceral. We all want to see the dead in action but if you want this series to last, ON T.V. it is doing fine.
