WHICH COUNTRY MAKES THE BEST MOVIES?

OKAY, Its safe to say true horror fans will love many of the USA greats and Classics BUT ..... Despite USA dominating the horror genre i feel European Horror films tend to be more consistant with their quality where as the usa bang out film after film, namy being crap or pretty standard.

I also feel as like South Korea so far judging from the films i have seen do actuali make the best films, particularly thrillers, not seen one bad films from them.

What are your oppinions?

Which country makes the best films? OR what do other countries do better than others?

THE STUDENT OF PRAGUE is also known as A BARGAIN WITH SATAN in the U.S.

HOMUNCULUS is NOT a complete film, lost through time.

NACHTE DES GRAUENS is the first vampire movie. Need to do some research on this as I was totally unaware of it but it seems to be another movie lost in time that has not survived except in pieces.

Like a lot of countries after a war, Germany turned to horror movies to watch some thing worse than their situation. This brought about German Expressionism with THE CABINET OF DR. CALIGARI where the twisted, weird sets denoted the mind of the person experiencing the story. Cabinet is a fantastic story considering its time and a better plot and expression than 98% of the flicks today.

CASTLE OF THE WALKING DEAD is also a great, forgotten old gothic German horror.

The Germans started the whole horror movie franchise so they get the BIGGEST credit of them all.

Nice work finding info on these three flicks Chang ! You da man !

I think RAMMBOCK was the last German horror I saw. Pretty good too. About a year or two ago it came out?

The Brits have been making great horror since forever. They did the awesome 28 DAYS and many more.

yea rammbock AKA seige of the dead here in the UK was a great lil film & by lil i mean that in a literal sense only 60min long! Not to keen on the ending/light thing but at least it was something diffrent and the whole seige aspect worked well as did the odd humor in the film

this guy who bigged up germany for leading the way in new horror might of just been trolling or genuinly a bit stupid since the obvious choices would be france or south korea for more inovative horror recently

America despite the bad films will always be infront because so many films come from there & its all these remakes that have damaged there horror reputation, before the remake boom i dont think many people could say America wernt making the best horror
