Stars of the Past / stars of the Present

Stars of the Past / stars of the Present

There are NOT any horror STARS comparable with the achievements of the genuine STARS of yesteryear, in Hollywood in general but in horror in particular. Stars like LON CHANEY (jr. AND sr.) BORIS KARLOFF, LUGOSI, CHRISTOPHER LEE, PETER CUSHING, VINCENT PRICE, BARBARA STEELE, ALISON HAYES, CAROLYN MONROE, MAILA NURMI.

My question is, who, in your opinion, are their "replacements" (more or less) in modern times ?

this is a easy question to answer because the answer is you carnt replace them, there is simpily not the same level of quality in horror actors! directors yes but genre actors NO, Bill Mosely is the only actor who is prolific enough & consistent who springs to mind but am sure he would hold his hands up & bow before greatness if he was on this thread

i just wish there was more talented actors who stuck with our genre! & loved it as much as the fans!

anywayz this is my last post for 2nite cuz am gonna watch "cat people" c ulot later!

I WILL admit to two gents who make the grade in modern times as much as Stars of old. Although they arent prolific in horror, they are tremendous actors, among the top 5, and deserve kudos for their time in horror. The first is, in my opinion, the BEST and most versatile actor in the world, GARY OLDMAN seen in the modern horror classic, BRAM STOKERS DRACULA. The next is an actor SO GOOD, that despite his age and without childish grimacing or emoting, just with a look of the eye, convinces you that he is evil and deadly dangerous, the awesome SIR ANTHONY HOPKINS as super villain serial killer HANNIBAL LECHTER.
