Halloween, or Nightmare on Elm Street?

I'm talking about the originals, not the remakes. Which do you prefer? Personally, I prefer Halloween.

Michael Myers is the original boogey man and is definitly the scariest of the two. He can get you weather sleeping or awake. :-O

Both series are great, but A Nightmare On Elm street is better, although the remake wasn't what could have been.

Nightmare on Elm Street forever for me. Freddy has a personality, and no mask--you get to see everything with him; his emotions, his expressions, his uglyness. In my opinion, that makes him far more interesting. Plus, the guy is a supernatural being, and can kill you in your dreams. Slashers like Michael Myers are a dime a dozen. He's pretty much Jason Voorhees with a rubber mask instead of a hockey mask.

I love both very much but I prefer Nightmare on Elmstreet to Halloween.

If we're talking originals here then Nightmare wins hands down for me. Im all about story lines & originality. The first Nightmare was a totally new copncept, serial killer who kills you in your sleep. Most kids feel safe when they go to bed & pull the covers over their head. Nightmare shattered that sense of safety, which to me is totally groundbreaking. Although Halloween is fucking amazing, the concept of a serial killer is not original. Dont get me wrong, I adore both, however, Nightmare takes the win for me.

Both originals are probably the best in horror films, but Halloween always wins for me. Has a more of a realistic feel to it.

I love Halloween, and the coolness of Michael Meyers, but to me Nightmare on Elm Street wins hands down. The fact that we all have to sleep and not being able to control our dreams for that matter spooked the shit out of me! Michael we see him and we can run... Freddy we go to sleep can't wake up and are fucking screwed! LOL
