some movies dont need to be remade. this was one of those movies, that being said its ok. Jackie earle halie does a respectable job as freddy krueger, but the makeup looks fucking wierd, like a wet paper bag was thrown over his face. the movie has some good kill scenes in it so it's entertaining but if you grew up with the 84 one like i did, id say stick with that one. younger people might prefer this one because its darker and fast paced. new to the movie, or a long time fan its worth a watch 7 out of 10
I did not like this remake
I did not like this remake at all. It proable would have been better if they had not taken all the dark humor jokes or wise cracks out.
not a fan of the remake
I was quite upset at first when I learned they would remake it because normally remakes are terrible at least the ones I've seen. I decided to give it a try though and no one could possibly replace Robert Englund as Freddy. I didn't like all the 'fun' being taken out of it either. It just was not A Nightmare on Elm Street for me
flat out stupid.
I didnt like the remake AT ALL!! The only thing I found enjoyable was that they went into more detail about what made Freddy, Freddy n why/ how the kids didnt remember anything from their past... Other than that I thought the overall story line was very bland despite the kill scenes (which were only a select few I didnt zone off on), and as I said the flashback of the past. Also I wasnt crazy about the actors who played the kids. They just seemed too cookie cutter to pull off their roles. It was as if they were trying too hard. However, despite some discrepancies with the "New" Freddy, I thought he did a pretty good job... The make-up artists could have stuck to the original Freddys make-up concept a bit better but I guess times have changed in every aspect of remakes.
The remake pissed me off
Trash....
Absolutely horrible. Remakes are trash. And this one deserves to tossed very deep into the waste basket.
