Not your typical zombie flick. Spencer Susser, writer/director of HESHER, serves up adolescent love and the undead in one of the most memorable shorts in recent years, starring Mia Wasikowska of ALICE IN WONDERLAND fame.

Jimbo is 13. All he can think about is one girl, Sarah Jane. And no matter what stands in his way – bullies, violence, chaos, zombies – nothing is going to stop him from finding a way into her world.

Maybe I was expecting too much from this short but it really seemed like standard zombie fare to me. The youth of the cast and a twist towards the end kept it from being too "been there, done that" for me. They get points for the creative use of a weed whacker too. I Love Sarah Jane is clever, for a zombie movie, but classic? I'm not convinced.

I like the characters quite a bit, and the zombie looked great.
