It looks like the news that fans of Argento’s original have been hoping to hear has finally arrived: The Suspiria remake appears to be dead.
Director David Gordon Green (The Sitter, Pineapple Express, Your Highness) told The Playlist that Suspiria is stuck in legal woes.
“The filmmaker revealed that the project is stuck in a legal limbo it may never free itself from. ‘Suspiria is caught up in legal crap so who knows what will ever happen to that,’ he explained. ‘That kind of falls into the Confederacy Of Dunces category of 'someday I'd like to make these movies' that I was once attached to and worked on, but they may never happen,’" Playlist reports.
Suspiria was reported to be all set to go, with composer Steve Jablonsky (who scored Your Highness) using the Goblin score. While this news means a definite delay, we may still see the remake resurrected a few years down the line.
