What Scares You?

What Scares You?

Everyone has a weak spot in their armor...and some of us have several. For example, films like "Arachnophobia," "The Exorcist," and "The Grudge" really get to me because I'm deathly afraid of spiders, the occult, and ghosts (living in a large, old, creaky house). What gets to you, and what have you watched that got under your skin because of it?

I have 7 older brothers and grew up in the late 70's and 80's, Magic and Jaws scared the hell out of me. Lets say it was my initiation into the horror movie SCENE and I WAS HOOKED. I watched Evil Dead during a sleep over when I was in middle school. I use the word sleep very loosely because we scared the hell out of each other with every bump in the night. My best friends parents were not to please because they  were up most of the night with us (unwilling participates of the mayhem) as well due to all the screaming. OH THE GOOD OLD DAYS.

I couldn't agree more... I was born in 78, and grew up watching 80's horror movies, that still to this day, scare the poo out of me. (Most of them I saw when my parents had no idea and cable first came on the scene) but honestly, they don't make them like they used to.... Spielberg, Craven, Carpenter, Hooper, etc.. CLASSIC original godfathers of horror. Everytime an 80's horror movie comes on, I just can't resist watching! I think Friday the 13th had the most profound effect on me, and Jason still creeps me out. Freddy, kind of hilarious but classic, and Michael- creepy, but if you don't live in Haddonfield, I think your safe.

All time favorite is and still remains the original Poltergeist..... Not to excited they are currently in production on a remake, filming it in Canada..... Fingers crossed it's watchable, expectations not very high as other remakes have completely let me down, but who knows?

LOVE 80's horror movies!

I like the first Michael Myers ( so creepy men in masks), darkness, or people just being evil like The Exorcist (one of my fave films).

The only thing I fear is fear itself. Because fear is different for everyone. Its shows up in different ways either physically mentally or both. Fear is just like the darkness everyone sees what they want to see and what they see usually scares the shit out of them even though you know for a fact nothing is their.
