For those of you unfamilair with the works of James Herbert, my condolences. But it's not too late. Go to your local bookstore, Amazon, anywhere and get his books. Especially "The Secret of Crickley Hall". I cannot recommend this book enough. But it will also prepare you. Prepare you for later in the year when the BBC does a 3 - 1hr episodes series of the book. As this was the first of Herbert's books I ever had the opportunity to read I am quite excited to see what the BBC manages to do with this one. I have loved other episodic television from the BBC that would be considered in a similar genre. Shows like "Whitechapel", "The Fades" and particularly "Bedlam".
Now I will not spoil the story. No, I'll not tell you a thing about the book. There'd be no fun in that. But I will recommend it, and feel confident you will enjoy it every bit as much as I did. Then you too can anticipate the mini-series. Yes, that will give us quite a bit to talk about between now and then...and beyond. So, discover "The Secret" for yourself!
