this will be kind of condensed for the last few I have watched:
Dance of the Dead: very funny and good effects. The actors in it were decent instead of shitty like a lot of low budget horror film actors are. I am not as big of a zombie fan as my husband is...but this was getting me into the zombie genre more. I like zombie films that are a bit comedic because the idea of zombies has a kind of depressing edge to it. Yeah, I suck.
New Kids: this was on fearNet on demand and I would not classify it as a horror movie as much as i would a melodrama. Not a lot of gore. Fairly involving and not boring but a lot of cheesy 80's-ness to it. If you like to mock 80's styles you will have a ball watching this!
Tourist Trap: this was a rental...Chuck Connors (the Rifleman, or you may remember him from Airplane 2) and Tanya Roberts (b-movie queen) are the only people i recognized. This was cheesy as hell, but the imagery in it was the type that would have scared the crap out of me as a little kid (freaky mannequins talking and stuff that moves by mind control.) You could call it a cross between House of Wax, House of 1000 Corpses, Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Really 70's vibe to it, although it was made in 1979. Still the kind of thing that would have freaked me out as a kid. I have a fear of inanimate objects possessed!
Dark Floors: Not a big fan of this one....the monster and ghosts were more lamely executed than i would have expected. I think that if they were not shown so explictly it could have been more frightening. Just kind of a ripoff of a lot of other movies.
Tamara: Way less stupid than I thought. I mean stupid, but involving. If that makes sense.
