About me
52 year old male living in Salisbury, NC. A lifetime devotee to serious horror movies. My first taste of what we used to call scary movies in the late 60's was the daytime soap opera "Dark Shadows." I was not yet 10 years old and didn't get to watch it very long before my mom pulled the plug on it. I had started having nightmares and was waking her and my dad up at night. The only other thing I remember as a young fellow was watching a show every Saturday afternoon called "Shock Theatre" which featured a different horror movie each week.
The introduction to the show was always the same however, and that's what I remember most. It always started out with some spooky music and a scene where a young girl was shown walking down a road flanked by woods on either side while a zombie is shown walking through the woods up ahead so as to meet her along the way. That always sent chills up my spine. And I have been a glutton for punishment ever since. This site and the FearNet Channel On Demand with my cable company have been the best thing to come along in a long time. My favorite franchise, as you might gather from my profile pic is the original Hellraiser movies: Hellraiser, Hellraiser II: Hellbound (favorite), Hellraiser III, and Hellraiser IV: Bloodline. These movies stand apart from the later ones in the saga, though the movies that have followed have still been pretty good.
