FEARnet's Week In Review 4/15

Happy Tax Day, I mean Friday. Here is a little bit of whats been going on for the last week:

·         If you missed last night’s FEARnet-sponsored World Premiere of Still Screaming, you're in luck, we brought cameras.

·         Need a Scream refresher? Bone up on Ghost Face legend & lore with Jeff Otto’s Ultimate Scream 4 Survival Guide.

·         Reviews have been mixed for Scream 4. Joe Enjoyed it but Scott wasn’t a fan, nor did he have anything nice to say about Cold Prey 3. He much preferred The Reef and The Troll Hunter. Your mileage may vary.

·         Pick of the Week: Zombie Chocolate Easter Bunnies in the Gift Guide.

·         Brilliant: even the fans are tired of waiting (and waiting, and waiting) for Joss Whedon & Drew Goddard’s The Cabin in the Woods.

·         We posted our Paleyfest 2011 interviews with the stars & writer/producer of Supernatural, just in time for the show’s return tonight on the CW.

·         Two more interviews from our After Dark shoot, star Rachel Miner on Penny Dreadful and director Kevin Hamedani on Zombies of Mass Destruction.

·         Joe caught up with friends-of-FEARnet Daniel Harris, Joe Dante and Fringe star Michael Cerveris

We also let Joe loose at Monsterpalooza

·         Mondo’s put out two cool, ultra limited edition posters for Wes Craven’s Scream and A Nightmare on Elm Street.

·         Jessica Lang has joined the cast of Ryan Murphy’s (Nip/Tuck, Glee) TV pilot American Horror Story, which already has Connie Britton & Dennis O’Hare on board. Very little has leaked out about the plot of this one…

·         Carl has had a busy week keeping up with horror gaming: we’ve got a trailer for the new Twisted Metal, new screenshots for NeverDead, a preview of the next Dead Rising title, impressions of the XBLA game The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, and a new F.E.A.R. 3 trailer.

·       FINISH HIM!! read Carl’s list of the most brutal Mortal Kombat fatalities.

·         Over in the blogs, Eric Stanze looks at the (fragmented) state of movie distribution, Tim Sullivan talks with Wes Craven, and the prolific Drew Daywalt delivers two posts, life in the “horror ghetto” and a tribute to late night horror hosts.

·         Upcoming horror: trailers for Hammer’s The Woman in Black and IFC’s The Silent House & Stake Land and news about really weird casting news on The Crow remake and Matt (Cloverfield) Reeves’ not-quite-a-remake of They Live,

Finally, this Sunday’s Stephen King marathon on FEARnet HD (pssst... if you live IN Philly, not the suburbs, and have comcast, check channel 1865) is presented by our friends at Bloody-Disgusting.com and they wrote two great companion articles: a history of King’s showbiz career and the 10 Most Horrifying King Movie Villains.

       See you next week!
