Friday Night. Re-Cap. Let's Do This.
A little quite here this week, but there were several things to note.
First, Tom Savini is making his return to fx in the Aussie film Redd Inc.
Rob Zombie released photos of some creatures for his next movie Lords of Salem
Fright Night released a clip of Colin Farrell being creepy, although I think its creepy whenever he speaks without his Irish brogue
Two indie movies looking for fan $$$ to help them make their films. First is the talented Jovanka Vuckovic’s (I misspelled that 4 times) very promising sounding The Captured Bird and the schlock-horror-tromaesque-killer turkey movie sequel to Thankskilling. Thankskilling (clip here) has been come a staple in my office the day before the holiday. It plays on a loop, just so when people walk I get to see them do a double take and half laugh “what the hell are you watching”
The Del Toro backed remake of Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark got a trailer this week
After nearly a full year since its first trailer premiered over at bloody, we finally get a new trailer for the Troma Film Father’s Day. I am interested.
This time of year, we have the normal three shows we have to talk about, and one we kinda wish we didn’t have to. I will let you figure out which is which is which
What should be a fairly key character for the next season of The Walking Dead was cast
We got a few minutes with the star and director of The Ward, Amber Heard and John Carpenter
Final Destination 5: The Most Finalyist is coming, you can’t escape it, so we decided to look back at the top 10 kills from the previous 4 movies
Greg, our music writer, is also a horror hound, and he sniffed out some movies that are out of print or unavailable to find in the US for you to check out
What do Steven King, Stan Winston, and Michael Jackson have in common? They are all on our list of horror music videos (for the young’uns in the audience, that is what Mtv played before the played Teen Wolf) for the same video. No it is not Thriller
Scott’s reviews this week took him around Europe. He checked out the sexy German vamp flick We Are The Night, British based Hammer Studios Irish located film Wake Wood, and a land that once had colonies made up of immigrants from all over Europe, the US movie Fertile Ground. Wow, I was really reaching on that one wasn’t I. Moving along now……..
We checked out Shakespeares’ Hamlet. Wait no, it was Zombie Joe’s Underground Theaters performance of Hamlet: Prince of Darkness. I get them confused all the time
A Singing Sloth? That must be music to the ears. Richard Donner talks a little about a Goonies musical
I am going to make this quick
Alice: Madness Returns continues to make me wish I was a gamer and makes me hope that American Magee makes this into an animate film for me to enjoy
There will be a ton of game news coming in over the next few days with E3 going on so expect more next week
I think that covers us for the week. Thanks for reading and as always, all the music, gaming, movie , etc… news from the week is available here
