The Devil's Carnival

OHMAHGAWD.

I am SO excited. This is the new project of Darren Lynn Bousman and Terrance Zdunich (the guys who created Repo: The Genetic Opera). It's another dark musical starring most of the Repo cast (although it's apparently unrelated to the Repo storyline), along with some new members, including Emilie Autumn, a musician/writer I ADORE. According to the site, "sinners are invited to a theme park where they endure the repetition of their transgressions. Lucifer and his colorful cast of singing carnies guide these lost souls through their wild, warped amusement park."

I cannot WAIT to see this. From what the site says, "the pilot episode has twelve original songs," so I guess it's going to be a TV show (or maybe a web show?), which kind of surprised me based on the fact that there's going to be a road tour when it's released (Minneapolis isn't on the schedule yet, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed), which seems more like something they'd do for a movie, but whatever, either way, I'm really looking forward to it.

There's not much to see or hear yet as far as the show or soundtrack is concerned. The website has a teaser on its homepage with a lovely, haunting song sung by Terrance Zdunich (oh, GOD, that VOICE....swoon) and Jessica Lowndes, followed by short, rapidly-paced clips of what appears to be the whole cast (or most of it) with a much more hectic tune (actually, it's less musical and more of an insane chant, but it works). I also found a twelve-minute teaser on youtube, but it doesn't reveal much besides Emilie Autumn walking around a creepy-looking carnival, putting on makeup, playing a couple different records with hard-to-hear snippets of the soundtrack, and dancing around. The official trailer is coming out on March sixteenth, though, and I am going to be counting down the days until they release it.

I apologize if anyone else has posted about this. I did a quick search to make sure I wasn't repeating what anyone else has said and couldn't find anything. I just wanted to share my excitement with any of you who loved Repo and have been waiting for something new from Terrance and Darren.

So "come one, come two, come all!" Check out the site and let me know what you think about this new project!
