My wife and I took our honeymoon a little over a year after we got married. We went to Gulf Shores Ala for 4 days and then spent a 3 day weekend in Nahlins. We spent 3 days @ 1891 Castle Inn in the garden district. It was billed as a haunted bed and breakfast. The suprising thing was that my wife suggested that we go here.
We stayed in the Marie Laveau room which was hyped by the propritors as the most active room in the house. The first night there much to my dismay nothing happened. The next morning we went into the French quarter we ate some of the local fare listened to some jazz. We came back about 2 in the afternoon. We were gonna take a nap and go back out later. My wife pulls back the covers on the bed and laying there on the bed was a chunk of hardened ash like would would find in a well smoked pipe. The 2 ghosts on the property one is a little girl who died somewhere near this property and the other is a Creole man who was a gentlemans' gentleman(I assume something like a butler) He lived in the house and smoke a pipe. I took the chunk of ash down to the manager and showed him he got all excited. I went back upstairs on my way up to our room. I got to thinking wait....they could have placed that there, never gave it a 2nd thought, after our nap we took our showers and were getting ready to go out for dinner. My wife was straightening the covers on the bed when she flipped the pillow over there was a nother chunk under her pillow!! My wife was in the room while I was downstairs so the could not have placed this chunk of ash in there(we had checked the bed for anything else before laying down).
We go out to dinner and that night as we weere sleeping. I woke up and was wide awake. I see this hsadow mving about the perimeter of the room against the wall. It looked like a man but it was a shadow. I tried to wake up my wife and she went "what" kind of loud and the shadow just disapated. It was cool!
We went back into the french quarter in the am, and went out to dinner that night. A storm brewed up during the night while we were sleeping. The little girl ghsost had a thing for my wifes hair and kept playing with it. Tina said it felt like someone flipping the ends of her hair up. Tina says loudly " Knock it off!!!" and we felt the bed bounce like a little butt hit the end of the bed and then after that we heard footsteps running down the stairs it was a great trip!
The B&B is on the web google 1891 castle inn new orleans and my wife and I had a journal post on their web site. The B&B is also up for sale (I assume ghosts included) I trhink they want a 1.7 million for the house.
