The cause of the zombie appocolypse is a rare strain of the Orthomyxoviridae(RNA strain of influenza) The thing with this virus is that it lay dormant in a persons body until the person dies then the virus activates and "rewires" the victims brain. it activates only a few systems motor skils and the need to "feed" the virus only wants to spread itself so that is why the zeds only show up with a few bitemarks(if you are bitten) If you have the virus in your system and die you reanimate and start to breed ie spread the virus.  The virus activvates the hypothalamus,with a twist the part of the brain that stores evolutionary biology and the 3 Fs' feeding all of need to eat......fighting fighting for food.......fleeing once an area is used up looking for a new place to feed and last fucking....though not in a sex type thing their bite brings on spread of the virus(reprodution)
