In a couple of weeks, I'll be planting my pumpkin patch. I live in zone 5, and the 1st of June is the time to start planting. I start a second set at the end of June. Staggering the two plantings helps to ensure polinization. I've grown all kinds of pumpkins; from AtlanticGiant, and BigMax, to the apple sized Jack be Little. My all-time favorite, is ConnecticutField(pictured above). This strain is available frommany differnt seed houses. Connecticut Field has a deep, rich color, pronounced ridges, and a tough shell. When carved, it holds up for a long time. I've found that growing my own jack-o-lanterns is very rewarding. Well, wish me luck. If you decide to grow your own, I wish you the best of luck too. Mr.G.
