I'm still fighting off whatever bug I managed to pick up over the weekend, so I wanted to find something that wouldn't strain the cerebellum too much today. "Nine Lives" fit the bill nicely. Nine friends, isolated Scottish mansion, snow starts falling and traps them in: nothing could wrong here, now could it?
Now, I'm all for a movie that shows Paris Hilton getting killed; it apparently satisfies something in my twisted psyche. There are also pieces of dialogue that were golden, where two of the men are speculating on why one of their friends would go psycho. Sadly, moments like these are few and far between...the rest is your usual slasher fare, and uninspired fare at that. (Now, if they could have worked in someone saying "If it's not Scottish, it's CRAP!", that would have been funny.) 2 out of 5, if anyone cares about a rating.
Here's hoping your November has started better than mine has. Am I the only one who feels compelled to reread _The Stand_ when I get the flu?
