I shot some tests with the cast back in November, and wanted to create a bit of a teaser for "First Time", just to give people an idea of what the look and the feel would be like. It was also a chance for me to work with the cast, and test some of my own ideas. Honestly, I think I should have just scheduled it and shot the whole thing that way, at that time of year in the location that I had, because now everything is going to be much harder. I have to wait a bit for the weather to soften up, because most of the film is night exterior, and it's too damn cold. Also it doesn't look quite right now, late autumn would have been a better backdrop for this. And I have a cast standing around waiting for me to come up with money, etc.
Wish in one hand, shit in the other as my grandpa used to say.
Anyhow, part of the reason I am regretting not shooting the whole thing already, and the real point of this post, is that the trailer turned out really nicely. It's just a test, and has some warts, but I really got the look I was going for. The Panasonic GH2 is a great little camera, I'm really happy with it. I would like to use a bit of a faster lens, but shooting at a really high ISO made a noisy, creepy look that I really like.
Enough of me crowing about it, please have a look and tell me what you think. It'll be up on the FT website soon, and we'll be using it as part of the video for our upcoming crowdfunding campaign.

I enjoyed all the visuals and
I enjoyed all the visuals and would definitely watch the full film ... I have only one complaint about the trailer and that is the music I thought it was to full on and quite distracting I think it would work nicer with more subtle music ... just my opinion though
Thanks!
Hey thank you for checking it out. I appreciate what you're saying about the music, and I can tell you that the short itself will have a much more appropriate soundtrack.
Thank you again,
