Hi All I picked up this J-horror anthology DVD from Suncoast video a few months back and wanted to comment on them. It contained 6 short films that although effects weren't that great gave you a taste of the different kind of Kaidans(Ghost Stories) that are popular over there. So its a nice look at what has an effect on their culture. These are the stories that were on the disc:
Peony Lamp: This is one of the most popular classical ghost stories from Japan about an undying love.
She-bear: modern tale based on an urban legend about a psycho supernatural bag lady.
Yamamba: Modern take on a popular Mountain Hag legend.
Nurarihyon: A Feudal Japan light hearted ghost story.
Heartbroken Trip: Modern tale set in a haunted Hot Springs Resort.
Lost Souls: Creepy modern day roadside ghost story.
Might be worth it to some people interested in Japanese Lore and creepy tales. If anyone has seen this as well let me know what you thought of them.
I for one found them very enjoyable.
