Rosemarys Baby

Rosemarys Baby

Carla Moran's picture

We are talking about "classic" films in this section, but no one posted this one. Granted, it was not to this day and age "scary", but it was a first of it's kind! The thought alone of this movie, without showing you, was enough to keep you going! And I thought, if we are going for current age, that Mia Farrow was in the new version of "The Omen"...I thought it was fitting. Granted, if we are talking gore, slasher films, that Rosemary's baby would be at the bottom, but it was a groudbreaking film that made a statement at the time it was made! Not many people were making movies about Satan at the time. Gotta give props for that

I love watching that movie. It's made me look as nosey old people in a whole new light.

I really enjoy most of what Mia Farrow is in and you're so right about her in the newer "omen" she is very fitting to the nanny role.

My mother was pregnant with me in '68, and had a Mia Farrow haircut. She couldn't understand why people kept looking at her funny until she saw this movie. I think I'll give it to her for Christmas. heheh

One of the best ever, I agree. Urban paranoia taken to the absolute limit (I've never forgotten the scene with Rosemary in the phonebooth--has anyone ever looked more terrified than Mia Farrow here?). I still think this is one of the most (psychologically) frighteninig films ever made. Roman Polanski was the master.

The scene where the view is obstructed was done deliberately by Polanski to get the audiences to crane their heads. Awesome manipulation.

Very good movie. I enjoy watching it whenever it comes on.

I'm completely unable to not watch this movie when it is on. Love it. And the crazy neighbor lady is the scariest little old lady of all time.

completely mesmerized by this movie....I love it!!!

I love how real the scenes and story feel - as if this is a documentary of someone's descent into madness or a living Hell. (Maybe both?)
