Hey even Romero takes a shot at the fast Undead BS Watch the beginning of diary of the dead. basically the director tells the mummy your moving to fast your dead your muscles have atrophied if you move that quick tendons would tare and you wouldn't be able to move at all. Romero's movies kick ass these new ones just bad knockoffs of the master.

I love the GR Classic ..

The re-make was ok

You have to go a long way to beat the Master at work

Long time fan of the old and I also like the new

However, I thought the first one became a parody of itself about half way through. Romero said it was intended but that's where the flow went during filming. As far as the new, although I liked it I'm not a fan of fast zombies. I prefer old school zombies, not the current man-made virus soaked sprinters

1978 BY FAR. THE REMAKE WAS OK, BUT I LIKE MY ZOMBIES SLOW AND STUPID!

I am a big fan of the original version. But is the remake really a remake? Beyond the initial concept of zombies and a mall, what do the two have in common?

Original Heroes - Two swat officers and two reporters, one of which was a helicopter pilot allowing them to escape to the mall.

Original Villains - Slow moving and much more realistic zombies as well as a biker gang wanting to raid the mall.

Original Motivation - Stay in the mall and survive in makeshift luxury.

Remake Heroes - One cop, one nurse, three security guards, one former gang-banger and his pregnant wife, two truck drivers, a gay priest, and a few normal joes tossed in for good measure. Plus one dog.

Remake Villains - Fast moving zombies that like to scream at you.

Remake Motivation - Leave the secure mall, get to a boat and sail around lake michigan with very little supplies?

Don't get me wrong. I liked the remake and own both on dvd. But why did this have to be a remake rather than a standalone film? It could have easily started it's own zombie series. It doesn't make any sense to completely change the zombies in such a way that they don't even closely resemble those from the rest of the "dead" franchise.

the original is the greatest zombie movie of all time, the new one was okay, the only thing they had in common was they were both in malls
