I feel that it was a great movie, but going up against halloween and friday the 13th around the same time it had no chance to be good or great.

Yeah, I have seen it a couple times on IFC..It was pretty entertaining and scary. Definately worth watching. Infact, I would rent it so I could watch it a third time, except none of the video stores in my area have it.

I remember seeing this movie when it first came out. I am hoping for a DVD release. They were planning a sequel a few years ago but I think it has been scrapped.

it is out on dvd i got a copy at wal-marts of all places for 4.88 just last holloween,.along with april fools day and dr. giggles (yeah i know,i'm so ashamed),..but in my defense the price was too good to pass up.
but for it's time "my bloody valentine" was a great little horror film .,.i'd love to see more like this than constant re-makes and endless series of jason,freddy,chucky and myers.,..how about a few well made NEW villians to fear ?

I was too young to see that in the theaters. But I do remember renting the VHS one hot Saturday afternoon several years later. I loved the plot. I'll have to look for it on my next excursion to Suncoast Video.

Okay I have 2 admit this movie had its moments, not the least of which being the guy who got the pickaxe through his lower jaw and out the top of his head, enucleating his eye! There is just one thing though; this movie, rather like THE PROWLER, makes it rather obvious who the killer is almost from the first murder. O sure it does not distract from the gore but it does rather blunt the revelation the ending. Still I like it. They really knew how 2 make 'em back in those days.
