If you are like me you grew up watching some of the old stuff (some even black and white) on the Friday night Monster flicks at the local theater or on television. One of my favorites, as a kid, was the Attack of the Monolith Monsters, the stroy of some town out west where a meteor from space creates these towering stalagmites that if touched caused you to turn to stone. They would grow up to hundreds of feet high, and fall destroying everything in their path. FInally though, they were destroyed by the most powerful substance on earth....salt water...go figure. It was always something simple that would turn the tide for civilization against the evil hordes from space, or better yet our own technological disasters. You gotta love those movies made in the early days of nuclera power.
Which of these movies were your favorites??

Man I am sure I have heard about that movie, but never recall seeing it. Sorry I can't help you. I was an avid fan of the "Famous Monsters of Filmland" magazine when I was a kid and they always told about these movies, but I cannot reme, ber much more about it.

My absolute favorite "Cult Classic" would have to be, hands down, The Evil Dead. I love all three movies, I know just about all there is to know about them, and they're just fun be sit on the couch like a veggie and watch back to back. A couple of my other favorites are Terror Firmer, The Toxic Avenger, Return of the Living Dead, and Dead Alive. By the way, did anyone else notice Peter Jackson's blatent reference to Dead Alive in King Kong? If not, go back and watch it again. It's in the scene when they first go into the storage area of the ship. There's a crate with a sign hanging on it by the stairs that says "Sumerian Rat-Monkey."
