When i was a kid growing up in Indiana we used to watch late night horror movies (the cheesier the better) every weekend and they were hosted by a "ghoul" named Sammy Terry. We would turn all the lights off and have popcorn, pizza and soda and actually made it a family event. We never missed Sammy Terry and couldnt wait for his show to start. Does anyone else remember this great horror host? He was only shown in Indiana as far as I know on the local WTTV Channel 4 in Indianapolis. I found he has a Myspace which cracked me up and he can also be found in google searches. There are quite a few sites about him. He was so cheesy it was awesome! He made horror funny way before Freddy Krueger did-hee hee. He always showed the older, cheesier horror flicks and he would make comments on the movie during the breaks. Anyway if anyone is interested check him out....especially if you are into the cheesy stuff like me! Oh, and, just a sidenote-Vincent Price rocks!

I'll have to look into this guy.

I grew up in LA, bedazzled by Elvira's breasts as a kid. I can remember trying to understand the fine line between horror and violence and her white-hot sexuality. It was a painful juxtaposition for a 10 year old to process. I knew Elvira was smokin hot. I also tended to be disturbed by the films that she brought to the table. Of course I didn't have the vocabulary for that. It was like, "That scene just now was gross, and now there is a woman talking dirty to me...I just don't get it."

Sammy Terry is worth the looking into. He was hosting horror way before Elvira. She was more about the sex where he was more about the horror and the cheesiness. Thought he was a vampire for a long time but then found out he was a "ghoul". His best friend was a giant spider named George that he talked to in every show. The spider would make little high pitched noises and Sammy Terry would repeat what George was saying like it was a converstion. It was just too funny. He started every show by coming out of a very creaky coffin. I just thought he was so cool.

How sad, just recently heard my beloved Sammy Terry has suffered a stroke. My thoughts are with him in hopes of a speedy recovery.

Sammy is doing fine. Just saw him for the 10th time this Halloween. I love the memories of staying up late watching him. I have a picture of my husband and I with him about 5 years ago. In the photo he was putting his hands around my neck but when we got them back it looks like he is feeling me up. classic picture. George Rules!
