Udo Kier is probably one of the most recognizable character actors in modern cinema,IMO.Andy warhol's Frankenstein,Suspiria,BloodLust,and Blade to name a few of the greats.Udo is a legend.

I am a big fan of both BLOOD FOR DRACULA and FLESH FOR FRANKENSTEIN although I never understood my critics seem to like the DRACULA more ... for me FRANKENSTEIN is not only the superior movie but a lot more fun (although seeing him have his "blood fits" in DRACULA are amusing).
I remember back around 1990 or so that he popped up in a Madonna video (I forget the song but it was from the EROTICA album). I was like HOLY HELL IT'S UDO KIER!
That was kinda weird especially since I hadn't seen him in a movie for a long time and yet there he was in a Madonna video! It was a bit surreal at the time.
I've noticed that since then he pops up in movies now and again and I always enjoy seeing him in a movie even if most of the time it is in a fairly small role.
As far as current Udo Kier news goes I have read that he will be in Dario Argento's finale to the THREE MOTHERS trilogy appropriately entitled MOTHER OF TEARS. Daria Nicolodi and Asia Argento are also in the film. According to DARKDREAMS.ORG the movie just started shooting within the last week or two.
One last thing I would like to bring up. Udo Kier was in a 2001 movie called REVELATION and this is a movie I really enjoy as it is based on a lot of very interesting topics that I have read up on over the years. I bring this up because almost everyone I know has never heard of this film little alone seen it. My suggestion is to check it out!
OK one more movie came to my mind that I must mention. If you have never seen it definitely track down the 1999 movie THE NEW ADVENTURES OF PINOCCHIO as Udo gives a rather ummm unique performance in this rather unique film.

I don't know him from horror movies. I know him from My Own Private Idaho, Ace Venture Pet Dectective and Blade. Oh and Johnny Nemonic. He is a great actor.

I keep picturing him running down the stairs with blood spurting out of his arm sockets in Warhol's Dracula. I also loved the way he said the word "Wirgin"!

Hes been in so many movies but I really liked him in Blade,Fear Dot Com,and BloodRayne.
Hes currently in the newest fake trailer for grindhouse "Werewolf Women of the SS" and in Rob Zombies Halloween.
